This newest line from Altadis USA garnered a lot of great feedback from attendees at this year’s IPCPR trade show. The H. Upmann brand is celebrating its 175^th anniversary this year, and Altadis USA wanted to showcase H. Upmann by utilizing Dominican Pilotico tobacco. This unique and rare tobacco is only grown by Jose Mendez & Co., which is a family-owned tobacco grower in the Dominican Republic. For many years, the Pilotico tobacco ceased being grown due to disease destroying production of this tobacco, but now Jose Mendez & Co. has perfected the growth of this tobacco utilizing a proprietary hybrid version to insure the quality and consistency is outstanding. This latest cigar was given the name “Hispaniola” as a way of paying homage to the island in the Caribbean Sea where the Dominican Republic and Haiti are both located. This fantastic cigar was blended by the world-renowned Grupo de Maestros of Tabacalera de Garcia. With over 250 years of experience in cigar production and blending between them, the Grupo de Maestros team and Rafael Nodal sought to blend an H. Upmann that can make its 175^th year its best year ever.

The H. Upmann Hispaniola by Jose Mendez would make the perfect addition to any retail humidor. Unlike most H.
